18 year old charged with criminal mischief in Mechville

An 18 year old woman named Jackie Piroli was charged Monday with criminal mischief in connection with early morning activity near Price Chopper. Police say they received a 12 05 a m call from the store night manager about kids doing damage and a warrant was issued. She was released in her own custody pending Thursday court appearance at city hall.

Cigarette distraction leads to two-car crash in Mechanicville

At 3 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue Mechanicville resident Carmine A. Cervine 22 lost a cigarette while driving eastbound causing his 1977 car to strike a parked auto owned by David T. Bartholomew. No injuries were reported to Cervine or passenger Laura Durante 17.

Masked knife robber injures elderly man in Halfmoon

A masked intruder with a knife forced entry on Plant Road at 11 15 p m Monday. He demanded cash from Martin Plant and his wife Hazel. Martin sustained a scalp laceration and was treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital. The suspect fled with about 25 cash and a 16 gauge shotgun.

Mechanicville Driver Charged After Harassment Incident

Mechanicville man George Quackenbush said a car cut off his motorcycle at Eighth Avenue and Elizabeth Street. Police traced the auto to Guy Coreno and learned Alfred Varone had possession. Varone was charged with harassment and released.

Mechanicville police investigate vandalism at Park Plaza after Joseph DeVito reports his car windshield cracked from center to passenger side. A large rock was found nearby, suggesting the hit.
