Parcel Post Delivers Six Days a Week Nationwide

The Post Office Department ordered parcel post deliveries six days a week for nearly 5 000 ties affecting first and some large second class offices. Parcel post had been six days in cities until May 1964 when five days were adopted for economy. Government moves to aid poor with food token payments or free food via liberalized food stamp program amid reports of starvation among Negro children in rural Mississippi.

Grand Jury Weighs Two Cases In County

The Rensselaer County grand jury reconvened after a six day recess and reportedly considered two cases none of which advanced to an indictment. One case involved an attempted burglary at a service station on Routes 9 and 20 at Schodack Center with two Albany men arrested March 21. The other case covered the theft of a car owned by Martin E. Béllo of Argyle, taken near his Hoosick Street restaurant in Troy on April 7. Evidence was presented by Assistant District Attorney Eliott F. Marinstein. The grand jury is not expected to report findings until next month in Supreme Court.
