Gun incident likely sparked probe of Newman's Pier II license
SLA investigator said an alleged life threat against Edward Newman led to scrutiny of the Newman's Pier II Restaurant liquor license in Guilderland. State Police asked to view the license file after a July 14 1976 incident on the Albany State University campus in which Newman said a driver brandished a handgun as he jogged.
