Pinewood Derby Winners Highlight Scout Event

Boy Scouts held a Pinewood Derby with main prizes for fastest cars going to David Cox Matthew Jordan and William Webster. Blue ribbons for appearance awarded to William Webster Robert Mulvihill Gerald Harrington Scott Zwiercan William Peabody Walter Sprague Llyle Livingston and Daryl Cipperly. World of Tomorrow rockets were displayed as a uniform inspection occurred led by cubmaster Jerry Harrington who closed with a prayer before cookies and punch. Judges were Ray Morin George Schaefer and Richard Severson. The annual Blue and Gold Dinner is set for Feb 13 at 5 pm in the parish hall of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

Rental subsidy applications ready in Hoosick Falls

Hoosick Falls residents may pick up rental subsidy applications this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the town clerk's office 59 Classic St. The Hoosick Town Housing Authority will also distribute applications Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Qualifications require paying more than 25 percent of income for rent and living in Hoosick with annual income limits of 8 900 to 15 900 depending on family size.
