Fire Leaves Crescent Mother and Son Homeless

Mrs. Norman G. Brammer and her son John lost their home on Firehouse Road after a portable electric heater ignited an upstairs bedroom. West Crescent, Vischer Ferry, and Halfmoon fire crews battled flames from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The family faces financial hardship with lapsed insurance and unemployment benefits only. They will stay with a neighbor until repairs are possible.

Malpractice Symposium Discusses Insurance and Discipline

More than 100 area physicians attended a Albany Medical College symposium on malpractice trends in New York State. Troy attorney E Stewart Jones urged professional self discipline while State Senator Tarky Lombardi summarized panel recommendations on new awards, compensation methods, and discipline. Shenendehowa Faces Secondary School Overcrowding

Shenendehowa School District expects serious overcrowding in its secondary schools. Paul J. Quigley, director of personnel management and housing committee chair, reported at the board meeting that high school enrollment will rise from 2100 to 2400 by 1978 while elementary enrollment drops from 5281 in 1976 to 5158 in 1978.

Mechanicville mourned Rev Ernest J. Autch retired St Pauls pastor and Augustinian. eulogized as a 40 year Augustinian and 30 year priest. Concelebrated Mass at St Pauls with Bishop Broderick and 50 concelebrants. Interment at Augustinian plot.

Mechanicville Sought Knives for World War II Soldiers
