Mechanicville mourned Rev Ernest J. Autch retired St Pauls pastor and Augustinian. eulogized as a 40 year Augustinian and 30 year priest. Concelebrated Mass at St Pauls with Bishop Broderick and 50 concelebrants. Interment at Augustinian plot.
Wartime plea by Chief of Police Gus Boucher urged residents to donate hunting knives with four inch blades to aid soldiers and sailors in the South Pacific. Knives to be mailed to the Knife Committee in San Francisco or turned in locally. no donation total reported.
