Bivins Beats Flynn In Cleveland Ninth Round Clout
Jimmy Bivins defeated Johnny Flynn of Rochester by a 21 round decision at the Cleveland Arena. Bivins fought through a cut eye and a groin shot to control the bout, with a hard late flurry including a right to the jaw and left to the groin that floored Flynn in the second. The win keeps Bivins on track for a potential March 16 Madison Square Garden clash with Metin Bertin.

Watson Dies and Roosevelt Mourns Loss of Aide
The death of Watson, a longtime military aide and personal secretary to President Roosevelt, prompts condolences from the President. Watson, a celebrated concert pianist by birth Frances Nash, served since 1933 and previously aided President Wilson at the Paris Peace Conference. He fell ill February 11 during events surrounding the Tehran and Quebec conferences and died aboard a ship during return to America. His passing marks the loss of Roosevelt’s trusted adviser who often warned that he must tell people the truth while keeping them happy. Burial arrangements include a homecoming body to Arlington National Cemetery.
