First Baptist Church To Hold Auction Sale
The First Baptist Church announces a public super auction at Fellowship Hall from 7 30 to 10 30 p m tomorrow evening with proceeds to church work. Items range from stoves and refrigerators to antiques placed on the block by auctioneers Arthur H Lofgren and Clarence Scott. Mrs Robert Wyant chairs family and household goods with Mrs Harold Sheldon and Mrs Richard Cummings in charge of antiques under Pastor Rev Richard Cummings supervision.

ALP seeks probe of New York City elections board
The American Labor Party called for a legislative inquiry into the New York City board of elections alleging misprinted voting strips in the 189 mayoralty race and deliberate shifts to mislead voters. It charged defective machines were used in selected polling places and accused officials of discrimination against Puerto Rican voters. The ALP urged the Assembly Judiciary Committee to pursue reform and place election commissioners on Civil Service footing.
