German Pupils Taught To Think
Inge Scholl, sister of Hans and Sophie Scholl, spearheads postwar Germany's People’s High School in Munich to teach students independent thought as the country rebuilds. The project, funded in part by state support, now enrolls about 2,500 mostly under-30 students, aiming to foster self-directed learning despite wartime traumas and lingering propaganda.
