Glens Falls police say Patrolman John Otruba and Officer Alexander Macurs saved Barnard Cooper 52 his wife Florence 48 and daughters Evelyn 17 and Lisa 3 from a second floor apartment fire at Fraiser Paint Company and Uniforms Galore at 39 Park St They carried them to a rooftop where a fire ladder saved them All treated for smoke inhalation The cause remains unknown and the drunken passerby aided by Macurs helped lure the group to safety before leaving the scene

A Schenectady man was charged with first degree assault after a shooting that left Roy Rowledge in serious condition at Ellis Hospital.
