Mechanicville Board Protests 2000 Sewer Tax Hike

The Mechanicville Board of Education unanimously adopted a formal protest against a $2000 increase in the sewer bill for the new Senior High School. The resolution says city control offers no justifiable basis for raising the tax from $500 to $2400 annually and vows opposition to the increase. It notes costs for sewer line installation and land acquisition were borne in reliance on the council's initial offer. The board ordered copies to all council members and local newspapers.
