Trojan Mustang Club Elects Its First Officers

The Trojan Mustang Club elected officers at its first meeting in a Ford showroom. James Gardner was named president Teresa Armao vice president Carolyn Miller treasurer Jean Purcell secretary and Frank Gagliardi dealer representative. H. Kaye Kerr of Syracuse was elected to MTI s Board of Directors. MTI plans a new 40 000 square foot building for the Automation Equipment and Instruments divisions adjacent to Albany airport. MTI reports 1966 sales 3 548 416 up 55 percent, profits 150 976 up 40 percent, backlog 2 million, and 200 employees with a projected 60 percent gain to 1 000 by 1972.

Montgomery Ward mailed out six and three quarter billion brochures to 544 million U.S. households in January for the 1967 spring and summer catalog. The 65 page issue showcases 16,000 items from fashion to camping gear with over 190,000 merchandise offerings in company warehouses for immediate delivery. W. R. Burns notes emphasis on quality value and popular features across all lines. In 1966 Ward distributed over 45 million catalogs driving catalog sales above $500 million through 63 metro phone units and hundreds of stores and agencies.

Mohawk Development completes expansion at Schenectady plant

Mohawk Development Service Inc led by Richard Bliss announces an 18 month expansion creating a new manufacturing facility at 1420 Broadway Schenectady. Space grew from 1700 to 7500 square feet and employment rose to 38 with design management and manufacturing. Annual sales rose to 350000 with projected growth to 500000.

George Gallagher Named New Manager of Royce Shoes Chain

George Gallagher has been named manager of the Royce Shoes chain at Troy Plaza Hoosick Street. He previously joined Endicott Johnson at Barre Vermont and served as assistant manager in Troy, then manager in Amsterdam and Rutland before his current post, succeeding Kenneth Mitchell who moves to Endicott Johnson at Westgate Shopping Center.

Shopping Center Planned At Clifton Park

George J. DeRossi owner of Star Market at Routes 146 and 9 Clifton Park announces expansion into a nine store shopping center. Construction will start in spring on the existing market liquor dry cleaning building with 4000 square feet added upstairs and 2400 downstairs and 200 car parking. The project aims for completion and opening by August 1 with interest from several businesses and DeRossi still connected to another Star Market in Albany.

A search for the Irish Queen of the Northeast is open to women aged 18 to 30 of Irish heritage in the Troy area. Sponsored by WOKO, six eliminations run April 1 to May 13, with Troy on April 22 at Hendrick Hudson. Three finalists from each area will compete for a three-week Ireland trip and tours.
