Rensselaer Histories Included in Library of Congress Collection
Three local history books by Rensselaer Historical Society members are included in the Library of Congress bicentennial collection. J M Fraser and his wife have a six year history of compiling the works, which cover Bath-On-The-Hudson Greenein Bosch and the waterfront growth of the city plus Beverwyck Manor. Proceeds support the society and books remain sold out. copies are available through local residents.

Bassett mirror delay prompts shopper plea for help
In 1974 a Mechanicville family ordered a Bassett pine bedroom set via National Furniture Cohoes. The mirror silvered poorly and delays in replacement arose due to factory mixups. After a year a corrected mirror was promised and a suitable resolution was pursued.

Schodack Town Board Accepts Fuel Oil Bid
Schodack Town Board approved a low bid of 40.9 cents per gallon from Rensselaer Columbia Fuel Oil Co for fuel oil used by town hall, garage, and highway equipment. The board also awarded gravel to Sam Smith and Henry Weisberger at 16 cents per yard to cover town roads and landfill.

Reeves replacement candidates named for Schodack Town Justice
Schodack two candidates Freeling Smith and Art Muller vie to replace Hollis L. Reeves who resigned this week from the $6,100-a-year part time post. Republican town supervisor Julius Van Ort says the board will choose at the Jan 13 meeting with GOP nominees forwarded for final action. Reeves’s term runs to November 1977 with a general election to fill the remaining two years.

Troy woman killed on Taconic Parkway
A 21 year old Troy woman died from internal injuries after a one car crash on the Taconic State Parkway at 2 15 am. Jean M Sisk of 40 Fourteenth St was pronounced dead at the scene. Cathy A Mangione 21 of 549 Second Ave Troy was treated and released and cited for speeding and driving while intoxicated. Janet E Lauer 21 of Franklin Square was treated and released.
