The Cahoes Community Center lists daily hours for open gyms, swimming, and special activities. Monday and Friday feature adults and youths gym times with a basketball league and scuba, while Wednesday and Thursday add weight training and woodshop sessions. Saturday closes for holidays.
The George Washington School faculty chose Clothe-A-Child as this year’s Christmas project. Second grade carolers collected $245.13 in donations from students and staff, with many individuals contributing small sums. Nunke Munhe Inc. of Troy added 250 dollars, and numerous other names followed in support.
Clifton Park Volunteer Fire Department members chose Thomas Hepner as president and George Green as fire chief. Frank Terwell is vice president, Al Alexander recording secretary, Gerald Lee financial secretary, Donald Johnson treasurer, John Pingelski trustee for three years. Line officers include Charles Travis first assistant chief, Lee Buck second assistant chief, Gary Manley and Michael Hewitt captains, and Philip Angelo training captain. Auxiliary president Hazel Manley and officers Kay Baranowski Eileen Lasher Terry Johnson Helen Pingelski Joanne Buck were named. A Jan 7 installation banquet at West Crescent Fire Hall will also install both groups.
Firemen Comer Angelo training officer outlines program starting January 2 at 7 p.m. Jonesville banquet and auxiliary installation of officers to be held at a local hall with a festive, very merry atmosphere.
President Jimmy Car promotes a life giving cause urging Northeastern New York Red Cross chapters to meet ongoing blood needs. Mrs Gilbert notes the region requires blood and calls healthy men and women ages 17 to 65 to call for appointments at local Red Cross chapters.
Clifton Park United Methodist Church will host a candlelight Christmas Eve service from 7 30 to 8 30 p m with Rev Cornelius VandenBrock speaking on More Reliable Than Stars A Silent Communion will follow 8 30 to 9 30 p m The sanctuary will glow with candles and poinsettias The Sunday School holds a Christmas birthday party at 9 a m with a Christ Child cake Mrs Craig Doherty in charge Opening exercises start in the Fellowship Hall at 9 a m The 10 a m Worship Service includes lighting the fifth Advent candle The Sunday evening Youth Fellowship is not held Christmas There will be no other services at Christ Community Church Reform ed on Christmas Day
