Woman's Driving Case Adjourned in Rensselaer Court

In Rensselaer Police Court Judge La Verne G. Lewis adjourned the case of Helen N. Hart 51 of 54 Partitions to January 5 at 6 30 AM. She faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident driving an uninsured vehicle and lacking a license. Hart is in custody with public defender Pierce H. Russell entering innocent pleas. Witness Robert Kisselback of First Trust Co Albany was injured when attempting to repossess the car and was treated at St Peter's Hospital.

Rensselaer Council Approves Regional Sewage Plan

The Rensselaer Common Council endorsed a state financed regional sewage study proposing a $9.87 million single joint treatment facility for Rensselaer East Greenbush Schodack and North Greenbush. The plan envisions 60 percent aid and alternatives include a multi municipal Albany plant or separate facilities.

Winthrop Lab Painter Kenneston Dies at 62

Frank N Kenneston Jr. of 462 Washington St. died Tuesday night from a heart attack. A Winthrop Laboratories painter for 27 years, he was active with the Red Cross and several local organizations. Funeral services set for 9:15 a.m. at William J. Lyons Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church with a Requiem Mass. burial at HalY Sepulchre Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Catherine Roach, a daughter Jane Berlis, five sisters, three brothers, and one grandchild. Death attributed to natural causes by Coroner John J. Marra.

Bloodmobile to Visit Rensselaer on Feb 13

City officials announce Albany County Chapter of the American Red Cross will bring a bloodmobile to City Hall parking plaza in Rensselaer on February 13 from 1 to 7 p.m. Mayor John H. Warden and Mrs. Joan Fitzpatrick are taking registrations for donors. This marks the first visit in several years, with Red Cross aides in charge.

Mrs Cook Wins Presidency of Democratic Women's Club

Mrs Joseph Cook elected president of the Democratic Women's Club of Rensselaer to succeed Mrs Raymond G Delaney after years in the post. Officers were recognized at a Christmas party at Mario's Theater Restaurant in Troy with new treasurer Miss Janet Butler of the city water department, replacing Mrs Anthony Hoogkamp. New officers include Mrs Anthony Lossi vice president, Mrs Philip R Smith secretary, and trustees Mrs John Mooney Miss Elizabeth Lyons and Mrs Daniel Luizzi. The next meeting is Jan 23 when duties begin.

Man Faces Larceny and Hotel Fraud Charges

Donald A. White 40 of Clinton Heights is free on $250 bail after pleading innocent to grand larceny and defrauding a hotel in Albany Police Court. He faces a December 29 hearing. charges stem from a Budget Rent-a-Car incident claiming nonreturn of a car and a Towne House Motor Inn fraud totaling $215.40 in July.
