Cambridge Elementary Zoological Lab Grows at Cambridge Central

Cambridge Elementary Zoological Laboratory run by Anne Carelli and sixth graders at Cambridge Central Schools houses over 15 animals. Supported by an Education Department grant, the lab studies animal classification and behavior with daily experiments and student led projects. Cambridge Central School Extends Morning Lockout to 8 AM

Cambridge Central School will lock doors until 8 a.m. beginning this morning, after the Cambridge Central Faculty Association informed the district teachers will not supervise students before 8:05 a.m. The board will slow rural bus routes causing delays for village runs, and parents are asked not to send walking students before 8:05 a.m.

Hoosick Falls maps go on sale at two banks this week

Members of the Hoosick Township Historical Society will be in the lobbies of the National Commercial Bank and the Home Savings Bank in Hoosick Falls during busy hours on Thursday and Friday and Saturday mornings at the Home Savings Bank to sell copies of an 1889 map of Hoosick Falls. Mrs. Thomas Beaumont, project chairman, announced the sale starts this week.

Ann's Antique Shop set for grand opening Thursday

Hoosick Falls announces Ann's Antique Shop on Church Street will open at noon Thursday with weekend hours 12 to 7, 12 to 8 Friday, 12 to 4 Saturday. The shop offers pictures mirrors chairs typewriters irons and rocking horses. Proceeds support the local historical society including map copies by H R Burleigh printed for AB Graphics Art Service.

Hunter found cold not warm after 18 hours in woods

Hunter Hunter Bruce Halse of Latham was lost in the Berlin Mountains area for more than 18 hours Sunday and Monday. Bloodhounds from Rensselaer County search and rescue and Taborton Fire Company found him near a swamp at 5 a.m. He was taken to a Troy hospital for a cut and bruises and was said to be recovering at his home.
