Ferryboat service cut as Erie Lackawanna trims runs
Erie Lackawanna will reduce ferryboat service between Hoboken and Barclay Street Manhattan from three to two boats starting Monday September 18. The move comes ahead of a planned Port Authority Trans Hudson access project that could end the ferries. Daily riders have fallen to about 4,500 with about half returning, creating a deficit exceeding a half million dollars.
