Saratoga History Manuscript Published for Bicentennial
Beatrice Sweeney and Violet Dunn edit a 400 ledger page history by John Chester Booth born 1832 Ballston Spa. The work reveals Booths first hand accounts from 1800 to 1850 including Joe Betteys British spy and his pardon. Hundred twenty year old manuscript funded by Saratoga County Bicentennial Commission will be sold first come first served at the county historian office with 200 copies.

Reporter’s left gear found in City Hall prompts questions
A 17 year old Youth Bureau member found a reporter’s leather bag with a tape recorder and stopwatch in a City Hall hallway after a shooting in Rensselaer. The bag named Kent was turned in to the Youth Bureau. The same article notes the Youth Bureau meeting and a bicycle theft in Colonie.

Castleton Reports on Sewer Fund Status at Board Meeting
Mayor Donald Justus will update Castleton village residents on federal funds for the sewer project at the 7:30 p.m. village board meeting at Castleton Village Hall. The EPA grant rules were recently tightened affecting Castleton East Greenbush and North Greenbush. The board will also authorize payments for insurance premiums and Niagara Mohawk bills.
