The Mechanicville School system will switch to full day schedules in Sic tet for five grades with sessions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Morning and afternoon splits will run 11 30 a.m. and 12 30 p.m. Bus pickup remains the same. Lunch prices are 45 cents for grades 1–4 and 50 cents for 5–8. milk 6 cents.
Shenendehowa Board approves a new 1976 77 fee schedule for music and athletic events raising estimated 3000. Adult concert tickets rise to 1.50 with student 0.50 presale 1 at gate. Revenue goes to general fund along with sports. A comprehensive student behavior code is approved to curb misconduct.
Six semifinalists are announced for Cornword Puzzle No. 1106. Contestants must identify five key words to win a $150 jackpot. A winner, if any, will be announced Saturday. Rensselaer police investigated vandalism and a theft with several minor arrests. Robert G. Williams of Albany faced obstruction charges and got probation after a disorderly conduct plea. Michael A. Gary and Ricardo Wise, both of Albany and Peekskill, faced seventh degree criminal possession charges and were bailed. A stolen Citizens Band radio from a school bus and damage to a school building railing and window were reported near local sites.
The St Olaf s Lutheran Church Old Forge will hold a Sunday 11 a.m. service for craftsmen artists and all hands on deck. Rev Paul A Boriack from Rome will lead Look Good on Wood and dedicate a hand hewn cross. David Goff Oneida will demonstrate hewing Saturday and Sunday. A Blessing of the Craftsmen by Rev Wilfred Hansel is planned for Sept 5 at 11 a.m.
A flea market and bazaar sponsored by the Rensselaer Youth Bureau will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the city hall parking lot. Features include vendor stalls and community activities hosted by local youths.
A pursuit across three cities ended with a car crash near Waterford Rural Cemetery. Suspect William F. Yarosz faces multiple felonies including unlawful imprisonment and weapon possession. Victim Suzane Parot, 21, was injured and treated, then moved to Albany Medical Center.
