Perfetti Appointed Police and City Court Stenographer

Troy Police Justice Timothy J. Fogarty appointed Peter J. Perfetti of 218th St. as police and city court stenographer, serving in both roles on a provisional basis. The 35 year old, a former Troy policeman, will be paid 5645 monthly after placing first in a Civil Service exam with a 99.1 score. Perfetti previously worked five years as Rensselaer County Family Court stenographer and is a Troy High School graduate. He is married to Marie Turino with three children Ronald Linda and Paula and will also work for City Court Judge Matthew M Dunne.

Third Street Assault Being Probed

Troy police investigated an alleged assault on Third Street between Jackson and Monroe Streets around 2:15 a.m. The victim, Kevin P. Harrigan, 18, was taken to Samaritan Hospital Emergency Room with facial lacerations and a hand abrasion after describing an attack by three unknown Black males aged between 18 and 25. Officers W. P. Miller and John Waters led the inquiry.
