Estimates Board Rejects Midyear Pay Rise for Cohoes Police

The Board of Estimate and Apportionment met at City Hall and rejected a midyear pay raise for Cohoes police. A council resolution seeking higher police salaries relies on state aid, which officials say is already anticipated in the 1965 budget. Curran and Donnelly defended the budget figures and disputed claims of excess funds. Daley Shea and Rourke pressed for raises funded by anticipated state aid.
