Demolition Permits Issued For Two City Sites
Glens Falls building inspector Daniel J. Hogan announced demolition permits for two properties in violation of the City Housing Code. Demolition began Monday on 77 Pine Street, owned by Ralph Shapiro, who plans a parking lot on the land beside his business. The second site is the former Russell home at 170 Warren Street, owned by Frank Hoffmann of Albany, which includes a three story mansion and a service station. Police had received numerous complaints about both properties.

Bands Battle Aids Field Service Fund

Accident Claims Bring $550 Award
A Troy City Court Judge awarded $550 in settlement of auto collision claims for Kathleen M. Archambault, a 19 year old from 772 2nd Ave Lansingburgh. The injury included arm and back strain from a crash at Third Street and Thornton Avenue Albany involving a car owned by her mother and driven by Ruth Silvernail. Mrs McMahon Gets Suspended Sentence
Mrs Shirley McMahon, 29, of Hoosick Falls, a former office employee of W T Grant Co in Bennington, was given a six to 12 months suspended sentence to the Vermont State Woman's Reformatory in Bennington District Court. She had pleaded guilty to embezzling 654 dollars from the Bennington firm between November 1965 and October 1966. Her lawyer promised immediate restitution of the full amount.
