Two Saratoga County residents are promoted in the U.S. Air Force. Robert L. Dehmer of Elnora becomes captain and pilot at Griffis AFB in the Strategic Air Command after graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1968. William B. Potter of Corinth is promoted to airman first class and serves as an aircraft maintenance specialist at Plattsburgh base. he is a 1973 Corinth Central High School graduate.

Beginning today residents of Grafton Petersburg and Berlin may apply locally for food stamps. A representative from the Rensselaer County Social Services Food Stamp Unit will be at Grafton Town Hall 9 30 to 10 a m Petersburg Memorial Hall 10 15 to 11 15 a m and Berlin Town Hall 11 30 to 12 15 p m on the first Tuesday of each month. Applicants must submit proof of income for the last month proof of resources and county residence.
