Tennis Star's Plea Fails To Save Former Wife
Former tennis star Jean Borotis sought clemency for Mabeda Forest, accused of informer ties to the Gestapo, but the court convicted her of the alleged crimes. Borotis testified he had not seen her since 1943 and argued her fragile nature and coercion, yet the judge dismissed the plea as jurisprudence and law limit mercy. The sentence imposes ten years of forced labor, while Borotis remains ill in a Swiss sanatorium.
