Whitman's Home Shrine A City Landmark in Camden
Camden's Whitman home, once funded by the state and literary groups, remains a designated historic landmark. About 800 visitors toured it last year with peak totals around 1,600, while the brick sidewalk and monogrammed stepping stone evoke the poet's era. The house is cared for by a state curator and a local Whitman group effort preserves much of his furniture, including his tin bathtub.
