Joseph R. Valentino of 1213 First Ave Schenectady was charged with first degree robbery and third degree grand larceny for a Jan 31 Plaza Liquor Store robbery. Police say a man displayed a handgun and took $300. Valentino arraigned before Town Justice P T Maney with bail set at 7500.
Police records show office equipment valued at over $800 missing from two adjacent Greenwood Drive offices in East Greenbush. One theft totaled $323 and the other $479, occurring late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Castleton faces a new federal hurdle as officials must produce a contour map showing trees over eight inches in diameter within 30 days to satisfy a grant condition for the proposed sewer plant. Failure could halt funding while the village estimates costs may reach 25 000 to 30 000 dollars.

A fire at 1538 First Street in Rensselaer damaged a vacant City owned house. Reported at 7 53 p m Monday and extinguished by 8 04 p m. Cause unknown as police and fire officials investigate.
Police say a water main rupture near 1567 First Street at 12 40 a m today will be repaired later today after notifying the water commissioner. A handgun missing from a Second Avenue home has been reported, missing for six months. A CB radio was stolen from an unattended car on lower Columbia Street at 2 23 a m Monday. A shotgun and fishing gear were reported stolen from an unattended auto on Manor Drive late Sunday. Depressions in Columbia Street near the twin bridges noted. Michael Jordan of the street department alerted. A guitar and fiberglass monogrammed case valued at 576 were stolen from the St Anthony on the Hudson music room between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
