Luther Forest plan gains county nod for first housing area

Saratoga County planning board approved a small portion of the Luther Forest project in Stillwater Malta. The plan envisions 5 000 to 6 000 homes on 6 000 acres with a forest preserve. The five acre parcels will host ten homes each costing 100 000 to 150 000 dollars. The board sent comments to the town board overseeing final authorization.

Halfmoon Town Clerk Hours Change and Local Notices

Halfmoon town clerk Dorothy Breski announces the clerk’s office will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this week with Joyce Loomis in charge. regular hours resume next Monday. Perlanotville High names valedictorian and salutatorian

Roberta Russom is valedictorian with a 95.85 average and finalist in the Wells Scholarship competition. Karen Crouse is salutatorian with a 92.92 average, active in student government clubs, and editor in chief of the yearbook. Russom attends Skidmore College on scholarship this term.

Longtime Clifton Park ambulance leader dies at year

MALTA The Clifton Park Halfmoon Ambulance Corps eulogizes former president John MacCammon who joined in 1972 and led as president from 1976 until his death. He helped establish a radio link with state police and started the Memorial Fund. Malta Republican Committee meets May 2 to endorse Saratoga County and town candidates.

No arrests yet in April 1 town shed fire

Petersburg fire in town shed on April 1 remains under investigation by the Rensselaer CountySheriffs Department with no arrests reported. A spokesman said suspects have been found and the probe continues.

A three car crash at Route 9 and Litterly Road in Clifton Park left seven injured and one man charged with driving while intoxicated. Schuylerville Names Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Schuylerville Central principal Norbert Nolte announced the Class of 1877 valedictorian Karen Keeley and salutatorian William Clement. Keeley is a Regents Scholarship alternate active in NHS, band, yearbook and pep band, plans pre medicine, and has been accepted at RPI UR and Union. Clement, also a Regents Scholar, played football and tennis, in NHS, and hopes to study biology at SUNY Albany.

Clean-up May 1 in Barkersville Wellborn Woods Preserve

A public walk and cleanup will take place at 10 a.m. May 1 in the 98 acre Wellborn Woods Preserve near Center Line Road Barkersville. The event is led by the Eastern New York Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and the Adirondack Mountain Club Schenectady Chapter. Participants meet at the Mosherville general store Route 25 west of Saratoga Springs. lunch and beverages are provided. Clifton Park Board Talks CAPTAIN Plan and Green Areas

The Clifton Park Town Board meets at 8 p.m. to discuss the Community Action Program for Teens and Interested Neighbors CAPTAIN. It will also hear a proposal by council member John Palm to require green areas in new developments and review applications for town jobs and committee posts.
