Triple A Farms Rider and Owner Run Schenectady Dude Ranch

At Triple A Farms in Schenectady John Paprocki runs a 300 acre dude ranch with 120 horses, a 21600 square foot indoor arena and a full service shop. Staffer J R Wendt coaches riders while Paprocki touts group and private lessons, horse shows and hayrides. Paprocki won a 1968 Ford Foundation farming award, and JR has a fraught past including time on a Florida work farm and pending Florida warrants.

Square and Rock Dance Events In South Schodack

The South Schodack Fire Company sponsors a round and square dance on April 24 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Fire Hall on Bame Road with buffet beer and set ups. Also a rock dance on April 23 from 8 to 11 p.m. by the Ladies Auxiliary at the Fire House with Spectra live music.

Rensselaer Bicentennial sponsors guided city tour

Rensselaer residents may tour the city’s historic sites on May 8 as the Bicentennial Commission sponsors two two hour bus tours. Buses depart 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. from the high school with a guide aboard. Reserve by calling 436-8561 May 3 or 4. Parking at the school. Light refreshments after. No admission charge.

Railroad buffs meet at Chatham hobbyists mini convention

Railroad buffs gathered at Chatham High School for a Sunday mini convention. The event featured menus from dining cars, back issues of railroad magazines, model railroad kits, and working layouts in the gym. Attendees came from the Capital District and neighboring states in the region.
