Woman Dies From Burns When Clothes Ignited In Ashes Dump
Mrs. Edmund A. Burdick, 71, of Tomhannock, died in Leonard Hospital of burns suffered when her clothing ignited while she dumped ashes in her yard. Coroner ruled accidental death. She was active in Tomhannock Methodist Church and WSCS, survived by husband, son Frank Burdick of Troy, daughter Mrs Alfred McLaughlin, seven grandchildren, nine greats. Burial Friday at Tomhannock Cemetery after services at Tomhannock Methodist Church.

At a city zoo in Japan two by Tigers attacked a caretaker, who died after being fed upon. A second caretaker escaped as alarms urged visitors to shelter, a policeman shot one tiger, and the other was recaptured after entering its cage.

O Grady a 25 year veteran of the Troy Police Department and World War I veteran were held after a morning wake at his residence 241 Spring Ave and a requiem high mass at Sacred Heart Church officiated by Rev W A Martin.
