Reports cover hog weights, Christian Institute directors, coal prospects, and a century long tribute to progress through verse.
Wouters and Ricke, who were set to be hanged, receive a stay until Friday January 7 to allow petitions for a new trial to be submitted to the supreme court. A new hearing is unlikely, with execution anticipated on the stay date.
The annual meeting of the Troy Social Library Association for electing officers for the coming year will convene in the county court room Monday evening January 8 1876 at 6 30. Members especially those joined via the Ladies Library club are urged to attend. absentees will incur fines. T G Hur, Sec’y.
A garbled list of marriage notices from November and December in 1874 and 1875 records ceremonies conducted by Rev Sutton and other ministers. Names include Jameson Smithil, Ellas McDowell, McKee Jameson, Wrumfield Colman, Nuwele Carutiters, Madding Black, Wilkerson Timompan, and Vreeuter Breiche among couples in Lincoln and Warren counties.
Fannie F., daughter of N. A. and Ad Murvey, died near Aubtrn Lincoln County Missouri on November 21. Aged five years.
