Three Indictments Reported by September Grand Jury
Waverly dispatch notes that three persons were indicted by the September grand jury, including E. N. Ogbin for driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, Joe Bruns for malicious mischief, and Walter Leverenz for resisting an officer. Albert Stenzel 79 passed away Friday at Mercy hospital from complications after two operations within a week. Born in Germany, he settled in Bremer county fifty years ago and lived with daughter Mrs William Hattendorf. Survived by three sons Leo Paul Bernard and a daughter and step-daughter. Jewelry shop owner dies of stroke at west Bremer
Guy T. Babcock aged 58 died suddenly at his jewelry store on west Bremer avenue Thursday evening September 10 about five o'clock after suffering a stroke. He struck his head in a fall but died within minutes. He had been unwell that summer but remained active in business. Survived by wife, son Richard, daughter Florence, and two sisters including Mrs Emma Sweitzer of Shell Rock. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 PM from Kaiser funeral home, Rev. J K Hawkins officiating, burial in Harrington cemetery.
