In its first week the Tripoli Community Chest fund campaign reached about 50 percent of its $2 720 goal. Co chairs Mrs Ray Bunger and Elmer Wilharm reported a total of 1345 30 dollars turned in by volunteers by Tuesday. The drive combines ten organizations including the Red Cross Cancer Society and Salvation Army and urges residents to give generously.

Funeral Thursday for Mrs. James Peacock Mother of Resident
Funeral services are set for Thursday in Bloomington Wisconsin for Mrs. James Peacock 89 mother of Lee O Peacock of Tripoli. She died Monday at a daughter’s Racine home after a brief illness and is survived by two sons eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren along with three daughters in Wisconsin Ohio and Minnesota. Her husband preceded her in January 1943 and relatives including Mr. Peacock and Mrs. Steinbach of Des Moines attended the arrangements.
