Assassination Shock In France Echoes Across Europe
Reports recount the assassination of King Alexander of Yugoslavia and French Foreign Minister Louis Barthou in Marseilles. Petrus Kaleman, a Yugoslav subject, killed them and died from self-inflicted wounds after police intervention. The incident stirs fears of broader conflict, though Kaleman’s nationality narrows international fallout. Also noted are later reflections on Rockefeller's travel, Mussolini addressing crowds, and unrest in Spain amid anti religious violence and railway-like propaganda efforts.
