A Bremer county rural system study center will meet at Waverly High School on Saturday December 3. Miss Mildred E. Smith county superintendent announced plans with speakers Miss Mabel Snedacker of the State University of Iowa and Miss Jessie Parker state inspector of standard schools. Both will lecture in morning and afternoon sessions with demonstrations on language geography standard schools and eighth grade review. Sessions begin 9 am and 1 pm. December bulletins will be issued and library books exchanged.

Death summons Douglas woman 54 in pneumonia death
Mrs. Ernst Bergmann died November 25 at 4 00 am at the farm home in Douglas Township after a week of pneumonia. Age 54 2 18. Born September 7 1878 in Eilwese Germany she came to the U S in 1894 to Addison Illinois then Bremer county where she became president since 1910. Surviving husband daughter Selma three stepsons brothers sisters and many relatives. Funeral services were held November 29 at 1 00 pm at the home and Lutheran Siegel church with burial in the church cemetery.

The Christian Endeavor of the Congregational church held a Thanksgiving party at the church basement last Tuesday evening inviting friends. Guests were split into Indians and Pilgrims with captains and games like javelin, football, and turkey shooting. High score went to Indians. Pilgrims washed dishes as a penalty. Oyster supper ended the evening.

Popular Young Couple Married in Frederika
Frederika Special reports the marriage of Miss Phyl lis French daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur French Frederika and William H Sassmann son of Mr and Mrs W F Sassmann Denver Colorado. The ceremony at 2 00 pm Thanksgiving day at Frederika Methodist Church was by Rev A W Gable with double ring service. Attendants were Miss Mabel Sassmann and Raymond French. A Lohengrin march preceded the vows and the couple exited to a soft recessional. The bride wore shell pink silk crepe and carried pink Killaray Queen roses. Miss Sassmann wore old gold Ramona crepe and carried pink and white carnations. A reception followed at the bride’s home with pink and white decorations and a pyramid wedding cake. Twenty four relatives attended the dinner. Guests from away included W F Sassmann and John Buss of Denver, John Dunleavy and son Albert of Waterloo, Victor Mack and son Milton of Waverly. The couple will reside with the groom’s parents south of Denver. The bride is a Frederika public school graduate 1931. the groom worked for the Iowa State Highway Commission.
