Appendectomy Patient Returns Home After Illness
Paul Kuecker, son of Mr. and Mrs Henry Kuecker, was released from Mercy Hospital Waverly after a seriously ill three week period following an emergency appendectomy. The trip to the hospital was made for medical care.

Rev Walter A Koch 69 died Nov 16 in Minneapolis after a long illness. Prayer services were held in Minneapolis and Tripoli with Rev E F Puhlmann officiating. Interment at Faith cemetery. Koch born Aug 24 1896 in Fremont township married Rose Miller 1925. He served multiple churches and retired in 1964 to Richfield Minnesota. Survived by widow son brother grandson and nephew.

Funeral Services Held for Emma B. Boeckmann in Tripoli
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Faith United church for Emma B. Boeckmann who died Saturday at her Tripoli home. Rev. E F Puhlmann officiated with interment in the church cemetery. Survivors include daughter Elia Milius and sons Alfred and Gustav, along with 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Plainfield Telephone Subscribers completed about 14 000 calls on the first day of dial operation as B B Mutual Tele phones converted Plainfield exchange to the new system. Frederika and Plainfield serve 260 and 650 phones respectively with Tripoli at 754 for a total of 1600. The company formed Feb 13 1905 now has 656 stockholders. Ed Waltemate placed the first long distance call to Drake University Des Moines and Lucy Vosseller helped test the system by calling Tempe and Marysville. The business office doubles as the dialing equipment hub for Plainfield with a brick block structure 40 by 75 feet.
