Tripoli to Move Band Concerts to Saturday Nights
Tripoli Commercial Club members decided to shift summer band concerts from Wednesday to Saturday nights to allow fuller instrumentation and repertoire. The city band, led by Prof Mirick from Fayette, will feed from the high school band, now one of the state's largest for its size. Gold and Silver Wednesday events will replace Wednesday concerts with extra attractions and $40 in prizes, creating two major weekly entertainments.

Roadwork Begins East of Town on Graded Gravel Route
Ed Kingsley and crew start upgrading the road east of town from the Sweet corner across the Wapsipinicon to the north road near the Anderson farm. The project will raise grade to prevent high water damage and gravel next year. A three mile section west of the Tripoli Knittle road will also be improved to create a continuous gravel road from Bremer to the Tripoli Knittle route.
