Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Lois Farr 51 who died Monday at Allen hospital Waterloo will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Wm Spencer officiating Burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery Pallbearers are Michael Wilson Lynn Wilson Richard Sprague Stephen Pint Lowell Miller and Dallas Farr She was born in Durham North Carolina June 1 1924 daughter of Claude and Nannie Riley Rigsbee and lived in the Tripoli area the past 17 years She is survived by her husband Fred a daughter Betty Mrs Richard Johansen Tripoli three grandchildren and one brother Joseph Rigsbee of Durham N C Bettig Funeral Home Tripoli is in charge of arrangements where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday

American Legion Auxiliary members will begin poppy day sales in Tripoli on May 18 with the business district canvassed May 21 and street sales May 22. Poppies are made by Veterans at the Iowa Soldiers Home in Marshalltown, this year by Herman Hagge. Proceeds aid disabled veterans and their families. Tripoli Fire Department responded to the Glenn Wolfgram farm fire destroying a machine shed, tractor, and baler.

Junior High Music Concert At Tripoli Tonight
The Jr High Spring Music concert will be held in the Tripoli High School gym on Wednesday night May 19. Thirty five businessmen and guests attended the Commercial Club dinner at Faith United Church. Clair Hein, Iowa State Extension Service specialist, spoke on what people can do for Tripoli and presented surveys on family shopping, employment, population, and retail trends. A slide on Community Betterment outlined goals such as a new elementary school, swimming pool, recreation facilities, industry, and downtown redevelopment. Small groups listed needs, and past Tripoli Jaycees and high school surveys were reviewed. Dr. L J Magnall closed by detailing local accomplishments over five years.
