Boeing honors former Tripoli resident Homer Nevermann
Homer Nevermann, a former Tripoli resident, received a thirty five year service award from The Boeing Company at an April 29 luncheon. He contributed to development of Commercial and Military aircraft, ICBMs, and the Saturn Booster. He currently works on Boeing 707s 727s 737s and 747s and is noted as a son of the late H. H. Nevermann. Advance registration for the summer swimming program in the Tripoli Community School District is planned for May 22. A Grace Lutheran Church film for children aged two and up is set for May 15 with a free will offering.

The Tripoli Jaycees elected officers for 1976-77 at the April 26 meeting. New roles include President Duane Bremer and 1st VP Larry Schroeder, with other posts filled by John Fink, Dave Foelske, Rich Meyer, Randy Gehrke, Dennis Miller, Al Kuecker, and Dave Rimrodt. The group discussed community projects such as restroom construction, possibly at the south park, or an extra tennis court. Funds will come from raffles, bicentennial projects, and existing Jaycee resources. A slow pitch softball tournament and purchase of three Jaycee signs were approved.

Little League Summer Baseball Program Set in Tripoli
Tripoli starts Little League on Monday June 7 at 1 PM with two groups third and fourth graders and fifth through seventh graders. Tripoli student David Alcock son of Mr and Mrs Leland Alcock was among five Iowa high school seniors awarded four year scholarships to the University of Northern Iowa at the 15th annual Iowa Industrial Education Exposition held May 8.
