Music Department To Give Annual Pre Contest Concert
The high school music department presents its annual pre contest concert Friday night in the auditorium under director Robert Upton. Senior band, vocal and instrumental groups, and soloists perform with groups including a clarinet quartet, drum ensemble, saxophone quartet, bell lyre solo, vocal solos, girls sextet, and boys quartet. A small admission is charged. Also notes Mr and Mrs Robert Ambrose entertained guests at dinner Sunday.

Schuldts and Zabels Return From Texas Trip
Mr and Mrs F B Schuldt of Tripoli and Mr and Mrs Wm Zabel of Fredericksburg returned Wednesday from a three weeks Texas tour. They started in Kerrville visiting the Rahlfs of Fredericksburg, enjoyed rainfall the first in two years, then went to Lexington to visit friends. The party traveled about 3000 miles and found the trip scenic and pleasant.

The 12 by 22 foot garage addition includes a large fire proof vault. Annual report shows in force insurance at 31,242,346 with receipts of 183,811.20 and disbursements of 71,932.60 leaving 111,878.60 on hand at year end 1951. Veteran Harold Schweer returns home from Korea on 31 day furlough
Pfc. Harold Schweer a 10 month Korea veteran with two battle stars and a son of Fred Schweer Tripoli returned home Saturday for a rest and a 31 day furlough. He enlisted November 8 1950 served with the 25th Infantry Division including four months on line duty at Kumwa. He worked as a mechanic on motors for jeeps and trucks near the front. He notes quiet conditions and poor Diet in Korea and doubts truce talks progress. He expects discharge in six months and in Tripoli worked for Wm Ambrose Auto Co.

Mr and Mrs William Hurmence learned of their niece Joyce Hurmence death in Shabbona Illinois. They attended the funeral Thursday when William developed appendicitis and had emergency surgery at Western Suburban Hospital Oak Park. Mrs Hurmence stays with her sister at Brookfield while her mother Mrs Charles Kelsey remains with relatives here. the husband’s condition improves and he may return home within a week.
