Wartburg Chorus to Appear Here in Sacred Concert
Wartburg Lutheran male chorus of 34 voices from Wartburg college and Wartburg Seminary will perform a sacred concert at St John’s Evangelical Lutheran church Saturday evening March 26. Koch files for second term as Bremer county state rep
Wm. Koch known as Bill Koch filed nomination papers in Tripoli to seek a second term as Bremer county state representative on the Democratic ticket. A Readlyn and later V previously active businessman, he earned early recognition in the house on key committees including appropriations and agriculture. He supported a $2,000,000 appropriations cut and declined a senate bid to serve in the lower house.

Readlyn Iowa special announces the death of John Judas aged 70 from cancer at his Readlyn home on Saturday March 12. Born October 10 1862 in Cook County Illinois he moved to Bremer County in 1866 and worked as a carpenter then farmer. Survived by wife Mary and four children, two sons two daughters, plus three brothers. Funeral at St Pauls Lutheran church with Rev Frese officiating and burial in St Pauls cemetery.

Hr J Stumme county auditor and Chas Bills county treasurer visited Tripoli for a short time Wednesday leaving nomination papers in several business places. Both candidates for re election have wide local support and commendable state checker reports. Both are described as efficient and accommodating public servants.
Mrs. Mary Leonard Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Mary I Leonard died at Waterloo hospital Friday afternoon after a long illness. A former resident of Waverly she had lived at the Hotel Russell Lampson in Waterloo for fifteen years. Surviving are a son Darwin F of Oklahoma and a grandson. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 from O Keefe and Towne chapel with Rev E B Mounsey officiating. Burial was in Harlington cemetery at Waverly. A church committee at St Pauls Lutheran proposed ministers from several named candidates in Des Moines Roseville Columbus and other cities.
