Death of Wm H. Tegtmeier at 71 in Tripoli Iowa
Wm H. Tegtmeier 71, long time Bremer county farmer and later liveryman and billiard parlor operator, died Tuesday morning from a stroke at his Tripoli home after early Sunday illness. He was born August 12 1861 on a Crane Creek farm, married Nellie Jahnke in 1884, raised a daughter, cared for nephew Rudolph Ludwig, and left survivors including his widow, daughter Mrs Henry Matthiesen of Denver, three sisters, a nephew and two grandchildren. Funeral services Friday at 1:30 p m at his home and 2 p m at St Peters Evangelical Church. Interment Evangelical cemetery north of town.

The fourth annual Tonne family reunion was held Sunday in Sumner city park. Descendants of Dietrich Tonne gathered for a picnic dinner and visit. The oldest attendee was Louise Boderman, 88, and the youngest was six month old Duane Boderman. Committee members planned the 1934 gathering for Verla Towne and family in Wa verly.

Miss Opal O Connell Suffers Gun Wound
Miss Opal O Connell 17 daughter of J C O Connell suffered a serious accident at home Thursday afternoon when a 22 calibre rifle she thought unloaded discharged in her hand. The bullet entered the left abdomen and lodged in her spine. A Tripoli physician had her transported to St Joseph's hospital New Hampton for X rays and removal of the bullet. Her condition remained critical until Tuesday when hospital reports were more favorable.

Barn Fire Destroys Outbuilding on Piegors Farm
A fire at the farm home of Mrs. Ernest Piegors six miles southeast of Tripoli destroyed the barn and pump house and damaged the roof of the house at 9:00 am Saturday. Readlyn and Tripoli fire departments saved the house and other buildings. The household was away. Loss estimated in four figures, largely insured. One calf and harness were among items burned.

Graveling Complete on East Road to Buck Creek
Graveling of the road east of town across the river bridge to Buck Creek road was completed this week. The project started one mile east of town and will provide year round passable conditions. Bridges have been repaired and are in first class condition after spring high waters and summer work.

A pretty church wedding was held at Siegel Lutheran Church on Sunday at 2 pm. Miss Leona Bunger of near Frederika wed Oscar Kreis of Denver in a ceremony by Rev. C. G. Gerlach. Best man was Paul Kreis. maid of honor Gertrude Kreis. bridesmaid Hedwig Gerlach. Music featured Lohengrin and Mendelssohn pieces. Altar arrangements included ferns and roses. Bucknell Dies in Hotel Room at 56
James D. Bucknell prominent in county commerce died of a heart attack in his hotel room Friday morning June 16. He had arrived in town about a week earlier to attend to business interests after years in California. Born April 22, 1860, at Livingston Michigan he helped promote a local beet sugar factory and ran a harness business before moving to Los Angeles. Funeral services were held at Kaiser funeral home with Rev G Sharpley officiating and burial in Harlington cemetery. He is survived by his wife and son Harley, both of whom came from Los Angeles.
