Readlyn Savings Bank Announces Open House Remodel

Readlyn Savings Bank plans an open house to showcase a major remodeling and enlargement completed to better serve customers. The event, Saturday, June 14, 2 to 5 p.m., offers free coffee and doughnuts, and visitors can inspect the new facilities including a five tellers window, walnut paneling, and air conditioning. The bank marks its 59th year since 1904. personnel include August F. Meyerhoff as president and Burton C. Stumme as cashier, with a board of directors listed.

Tripoli Summer Recreation Program Draws 115 Participants

The Tripoli Community School hosts an eight week summer recreation program starting Monday with about 115 children enrolled. Activities are split under Mrs. Carl Ryan and Richard Opheim with age based groups and scheduled baseball and swimming sessions across multiple days at North Town and South Park locations.

Henry Buhrows Honored on Golden Wedding Anniversary

Henry Buhrow and his spouse celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering Wednesday evening. Attendees included extended families from Waverly Readlyn Frederika and nearby towns. An annual Meier reunion is planned for June 16 with a picnic lunch at Denver City Park, committee members named.

Plan 2nd Summer Band Concert in North Town Park

The second summer band concert in a four event series will be held Tuesday June 18 at 8 p.m in North Town Park. Both junior and senior bands will perform and ample seating is arranged. Ladies of Faith church will serve the social from 5 30. The public is cordially invited.

Tripoli P&E Days set tentative program for July festival

Planning committee for Tripoli's eighth annual Poultry and Egg days announced a two day schedule for Monday and Tuesday July 22 23. Royal United Shows will provide free acts with Barbidonia Accordion Band Monday evening and Tripoli High School concert band Tuesday evening. A kiddie parade is planned Tuesday afternoon and Main Street will host events with State Highway Commission approval. The flower show features 23 divisions including glads house plants roses and a youth division with prizes to be decided. Committee includes Paul Voetmann chairman L J Magnall Wm Schlichting H C Juel LeLand Bergmann and Lorenz Bunger in charge of the flower show.

Final Rites for Sophia Gesell Were Tuesday

Sophia Emma Gesell 71 died Saturday. Services were Tuesday afternoon from Matthias Abbas Denver with Rev S M Schreitmueller officiating. Interment at Howard Cemetery Elma. Casket bearers were Marvin Gesell Ruben Fredrich Dale Clarke Roland Thies Ernest Frahy and Clarence Gesell.

Sei Dates to Form Local Softball Teams in Tripoli reports 78 youths signed up for summer evening softball, split into two boys groups and one girls group. Two area 4-H teams will join, with age brackets aligning to the committee plan. Scheduling designates meet nights at South Park in mid June for ages 8–13, 14–17, and all girls.

Final Rites for John Schmidt Held Sunday

John F Schmidt 82, longtime Tripoli resident, died Friday at his sister in law's home. Rev E F Puhlmann led services at Bet tie Funeral for burial in Faith United Church of Christ cemetery. Born Oct 20 1880 near Tripoli, he was a retired farmer who moved to Tripoli in 1951. Survived by two sisters and many siblings.

License Examiners To Be in Tripoli Saturday Morning

License examiners will be at the Tripoli Town Hall on Saturday June 15 from 8:00 am to noon. Residents of Tripoli and the shopping area may renew licenses or qualify for a license. Driver license renewals can be obtained anytime during the morning. written and driving tests run 8:00 am to 11:00 am.

Funeral Rites Held for Oscar Bany 54 at Tripoli Town Hall

Funeral services for Oscar A. Bany 54 were conducted Monday at Tripoli Town Hall with Rev. Harry Haas of Sumner Baptist church officiating. He died Thursday at University hospital Iowa City. Burial followed in Fremont cemetery. Survivors include his widow June and a daughter Mrs. George Hanzlik Anamosa. He was born October 4 1908 and had worked for Tripoli Implement Co and an oil firm in Sumner.

Commercial Club To Meet Next Monday June 17

Regular meeting of the Tripoli Commercial Club will be Monday evening June 17 in the Town Hall starting at 8 o clock. There will be no dinner served and no personal attendance contacts. This will be the last formal meeting until September. Members are urged to attend. The annual club picnic is slated for July.
