Red Cross Offers Free Swimming Lessons for Children
The Red Cross Water Safety program will offer 12 free swimming lessons for children over six in Tripoli and Frederika. Fishing Has Been Good on the Wapsie
Ernest Drewis says area waters near the Wapsie river hold fine northerns. Accompanied by Dean Harris and his wife, they caught 17 northern pike last Sunday near Tripoli, largest about six pounds. Live frogs were noted as effective bait. Fishermen report good overall catches this spring below Plum Creek dam on Sweet's Marsh.

Funeral services were held in Waverly for Fred G. Wolf prominent local businessman who died Friday from a heart condition. Born June 24 1889 in Bremer county he lived in Waverly and Tripoli operating hatcheries and a feed store. He served as Bremer county supervisor and led Iowa Poultry Association in earlier years.
