Warm weather and adequate rainfall uplift crops as corn shows rapid growth with 99 percent cultivated once while oats turn yellowish in spots. Hundreds of bullheads will be stocked at Tot's Lake near Tripoli for a Sunday contest by the Wapsie Sportsmen's Club. Children fifteen and under vie for master prize red and reel. prizes for longest and shortest fish in three age groups. A large turnout, including 75 from Tripoli and vicinity and 35 from Frederika, registered for Red Cross Safety Service free swimming lessons by the Tripoli Chapter and Junior Red Cross. Instruction will be split by name groups at the municipal pool in New Hampton with buses at 10 30 a m. Frederika students will attend on Tuesdays and Fridays from their lot near the post office. Season tickets are available at local stores and Mrs. Robert Ambrose. A ten cent bathing fee covers use of the bath house and towels.

August Meyerhoffs Observe Their Silver Wedding
Readlyn Iowa reports August and Mrs Meyerhoff celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a June 15 reception at Zion Lutheran church parlors. Rev Elmer Jacobs spoke to about 150 guests as Ruth Marie Meyerhoff sang with Ruth Marie and Naomi Jean Orth. A buffet supper, three tier cake, silver decor and orange blossom bouquets highlighted the event.
