Ernest Hooper a Bremer county farmer from Douglas township died suddenly at his home near Siegel Lutheran church on June 7 after a period of illness from Brights disease. He was 64 and survived by his widow Augusta and seven children. Funeral services were held at his home and St. Pauls Lutheran church in Siegel with interment in the parish cemetery.

A Sunday gathering celebrated the twentieth wedding anniversary of a local couple at their southeast town home. Death notice for Stephen Baumgartner in Waterloo
Waverly friends of Stephen Baumgartner have been advised of his sudden death at his home in Waterloo on Saturday morning May 6 due to a heart attack. He lived north of the city before moving to Waterloo where he was a watchman at the Chamberlin Corporation Plant. He was 68 and survived by his widow, one son Robert of Waterloo, and two step children Henry Carson of Waterloo and Mrs Emil Ackman of Tripoli. Funeral services will be Tuesday at St Marys Catholic church with Rev Theodore Plassmeyer officiating and burial in Calvary cemetery.

Five Left Orphans of Beenken Family in City
Five left orphans, friends of Henry Beenken who lived on the Garner place near this city, were advised of his death at Cedar Falls last Wednesday. Beenken’s wife died four months ago at Mercy hospital after a short pneumonia illness following the birth of a baby daughter. Mr Beenken also died of pneumonia. The five children, aged twelve to four months, are being cared for in the Orphans Home in this city.
