County Primary Returns Show Field Leading Peak GOP Ticket

Improvement Club Buys Land for Park in Tripoli
The Tripoli Improvement club, formed by local women, bought 20 lots west and south of the Carl Tegtmeier home for a public park. The purchase from A. H. Panzer, J. F. Keough, and Mrs. Delaphine Carstensen cost 195 dollars. Roads will enter from primary 98 and the Tripoli Knittel road, water and sewage connections are available, and landscaping will begin soon with trees planned for this year.

Auxiliary Meeting Set For June At Legion Hall
The American Legion Auxiliary holds its regular June meeting at the Legion hall on Tuesday evening June 14. It will be the last meeting before summer vacation with good attendance expected. Delegates will report on the third district convention at Sumner May 12 and on the poppy sale along with other bulletins. Refreshments will follow.

Griese and Schwem secured party nominations for supervisor of the second district. Schwem, Republican from Tripoli, defeated Fox 294 to 190 in the GOP primary while Griese, Democrat from Denver, led Ernst Buls 476 to 310. Townships show Schwem leading Fox in most areas. Griese leads Buls and Joens in several townships. Incumbent Leonard Miller lost GOP nomination for the first district to C. S. Colburn. Democratic nominee for first district is Ducker. No nominations were open in the third district.

Family Gathering at F Niemann Home Near Tripoli
A week ago a Niemann family gathering at the home of Mr and Mrs F W Niemann five miles southeast of Tripoli brought together siblings and relatives of Mrs Niemann. Attendees included Mrs Charles Jacquinet Minneapolis Rev and Mrs Sandrock Bellevue IA Mr and Mrs A Brunhoefer and son Vernon Chicago Rev and Mrs Fred Kuethe Streater IL Rev Edgmont Kuethe Streater IL and others. The gathering followed the death and burial of Minnie Kuethe, deaconess of the orphan's home, prompting a Waverly trip. Mrs L H Fink plus sister Mrs K C Frank and Mary Joyce visited, with Mary Joyce returning home after time at the Hildebrandt home.
