Wool Growers Assn To Ship June 11
The Bremer county wool growers association will pool wool again this year with a shipment date set for June 11 at the Great Western freight depot in Waverly. Last year 4 600 pounds were shipped by 22 farmers, with individual lots from 55 to 731 pounds. The Iowa sheep and wool growers association lightens market demands, with over two million pounds consigned in 1931, and the pool is expected to double again this year. The state group advances 9e per pound for top quality wool, and Bremer county plans to arrange at least a carload to Des Moines. Last year shipments came from Maxfield, Jackson, W Lafay ette, E Lafayette, Douglas, Frederika, Warren, Fremont, Polk and Washington town ships. Growers are urged to use regular wool twine and avoid binder twine to prevent deductions.
