The Tripoli FFA chapter competed at a swine judging contest sponsored by the Northwest Iowa Swine Testing Station in New Hampton on Friday July 15. 팀 members Jerry Biermann Kenneth Buhrow Jim Dohrmann and Tom Manson scored 551 of 900 points to finish fifth among 24 entries. Larry Lohmann led the team with 197 points and the group toured the station to learn breeding stock practices. Dr and Mrs L J Magnall attended a Boone wedding Saturday night.

Area Brotherhood Picnic At Tripoli Sunday
Area No 4 Lutheran Brotherhood held its annual family picnic at South Park in Tripoli. About 135 people attended a Sunday dinner followed by a devotional and group singing. Children of Virgil Moeller performed on accordion, then Ban ke Sonia. Entertainment came from Crane Creek and Frederika brotherhoods. A baseball game and horseshoe pitching ended the day.

County Historical Society Launches Drive for Funds
The Bremer County Historical Society began a fundraising drive to buy a headquarters in Waverly. An option exists on the old Caphenin Chemical Co. building for about 14 000 dollars. The building, a historic hand-hewn timber and native brick structure, suits the society’s aims. Board members leading the campaign include Mrs. Delbert Shepard and Miss Lou Shephard among others. The group, with about 125 members, invites charter members.
