Parked car on road blamed for weekend crash
Veryl Murphy of Sumner struck a parked car driven by Henry Moeller of Cedar Falls on Primary 93 two miles east of Tripoli Saturday night. Moeller stopped with lights off. Murphy blinded by an oncoming westbound car and tried to pass on the right, sideswiping Moeller's car. Both vehicles damaged. Murphy surroundings occupants Harold Kirchman Bernice Meighan and Norma Warnke suffered bruises.

W F Nafus, 68, passed away at his Bremer county home on Thursday morning due to heart disease after a two year illness. He was born near Horton on September 22, 1864 and lived most of his life in the county. He married Della Storing on October 30, 1896, and they farmed near Horton before moving to the city twenty five years ago. Survived by wife two daughters Lydia Swenson and Mildred Weber one brother George Nafus and two sisters Flora Wood and Jane Terry. Funeral services were held at Kaiser chapel and burial followed in Horton Cemetery.

Born in Maxfield township Bremer county she lived in the area all her life moving to the city about 30 years ago. Survived by two sons Herman C Buhr Readlyn and William H Buhr Buffalo ND and daughter Mrs Minnie Schroeder six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St Pauls Lutheran church Friday at two oclock with burial in St Pauls Lutheran cemetery.
