NPA Gives Go Ahead On New Bremer County Home
Bremer County moves toward a new county home with steel allotments opened by NPA. Construction could start by July after land clearing begins within two weeks seven miles southwest of Tripoli. County approval from the construction and controls division is expected within two weeks, backed by a $400 000 bond issue approved in 1950. Black Hawk County also reports steel for its project to begin this summer.

The remodeling of Bunger's Barber Shop was completed last Tuesday. A 25 foot sewer extension under the shop and a new wood floor with plastic inlaid linoleum were installed. The work area moved to the back, the waiting area expanded at the front, the shop painted in confeitti yellow tropic green and wine berry, and local firms and workmen did the project.

Auto Kills Deer Near Tripoli Then Deer Is Stolen
A 1950 Ford driven west by Irvin Strottmann of Readlyn struck a deer east of Tot's Lake near Tripoli, causing $100 damage. The deer was moved to the ditch edge and later stolen from the scene, with tracks showing a vehicle hauled the venison. no witnesses were found.

Trio of Waterloo youths confess theft of Nor ma Blasberg’s suitcase from a Tripoli auto. They dumped about 75 dollars in clothing and jewels into the Cedar River after the crime.
