Tripoli plans an annual planning day with free pancakes and sausages served from 10 30 a.m. to 3 30 p.m at City Hall. The event is sponsored by the cooperating Tripoli group and aims to welcome residents and visitors.
The sale by ule Hyde Equipment will be held Saturday starting at 12 30 p m at a site one mile east on the blacktop. A complete listing of livestock and farm equipment is shown on page two. Mennenga of Clarksville is the pioneer and the sale is to be hosted by the American Sav ank.
The Bicentennial window display committee invites public viewing across local shops throughout the year. January highlights include cheerleader displays at Bill's Jack and Jill Rettig Furniture and Tripoli TV and Appliance. February features Cub and Boy Scout displays Tripoli Plumbing and Heating and other groups at several venues. moving notices report Mr and Mrs Donald Heim relocation and Evelyn Rieck moving to a Pinhook home.
First round action opened as Janesville eliminated Plainfield 88 to 56. Semifinals set for Wednesday February 25 with Tripoli facing Janesville at Tripoli and Denver meeting Fredericksburg at Denver both games at 7 30 p m. Winners meet February 26 at 7 30 p m in Tripoli for the sectional title.

Kindergarten registration for children in the Tripoli Community School District will be held on March 5 1976. Eligible children are those not enrolled in school who will be 5 years old by September 15 1976. Registration takes place in the east elementary building. Parents bring child health records birth certificate. A 1976 77 kindergarten meeting is set for March 30 1976 at 7 30 p.m. in the elementary gym to plan the April 5 9 Kindergarten Maturity Clinic.
The Denver Board of Education approved a master contract with the Denver Teachers Association setting a base salary of 8,950 and a maximum with a masters degree of 16,466.20. A public hearing on the 1976-77 operating budget is set for March 1 at 8 00 p.m. at the high school. Expenditures proposed total 1,399,270 in the general fund and 113,144 in the schoolhouse fund.
Tripoli High boys basketball beat Jesup 67 56 to close the regular season and finish 7 7 in conference. Four Panthers reached double figures led by freshman Kevin Kuhrt with 17 as Craig Bruns shined on rebounding defense and offense.
The Ralph Bolte farming equipment closing out sale was postponed due to severe weather and is rescheduled for Friday February 27 at noon. The farm lies 4 miles west of Tripoli on highway 93, 1 mile north on 63 and 1% miles west. Auctioneer Arnold Hexom. clerked by American Savings Bank Tripoli.
Tripoli High School competed among 25 schools in the Class A district wrestling tournament at Grundy Center. Panther coach John Samuelson led the team as five wrestlers advanced to the state meet.
Tripoli Community School Board approves general fund budget of 1 210 167 and schoolhouse fund 68 406 with property tax levy 531 042 for the general fund. Total taxation 599 448 and overall 12.30 per 1000 valuation based on 778 students. Hearing set for Monday March 8.
The Tripoli Wrestling Booster Club schedules a March 6 banquet at Maple Hills Country Club with a potluck and beverages provided later.
